Create the email account in cPanel

cPanel → Email → Email Accounts → "Create". Enter username (e.g. info), domain, strong password and mailbox size. Click "Create". Mailbox ready in seconds.

Verify MX records

cPanel → Email → MX Records → confirm MX points to mail.yourdomain.com or your hosting's mail server. For external email (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365), MX will be different — set per provider.

Configure SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

Add TXT record: TXT @ → "v=spf1 +a +mx +include:_spf.yourdomain.com ~all". cPanel's Email Deliverability auto-generates the correct SPF for you.

Set up DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)

cPanel → Email → Email Deliverability → "Manage" → "Repair" if DKIM is missing. cPanel generates the public key TXT record automatically and signs outgoing email.

Configure DMARC policy

Add TXT: TXT _dmarc → "v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com; pct=100; adkim=s; aspf=s". Start with p=none (monitor), then move to p=quarantine, finally p=reject.

Connect Outlook/Thunderbird/Gmail

IMAP: server mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS. SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com, port 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS). Username = full email, password = mailbox password.

Test deliverability

Send a test to mail-tester.com — scores SPF, DKIM, DMARC and content. Target 9+/10. Fix any "missing" items. Also test sending to Gmail and Outlook to verify mail does not land in spam.
