Setting up your business email on a smartphone takes 3 minutes if you know the right settings. This guide shows step-by-step how to add a domain email (e.g. info@yourcompany.com) to iPhone (iOS Mail) and Android (Gmail app), with the exact IMAP and SMTP settings for SSL/TLS connections.

How to Set Up Email on Your Phone

1

Gather your account info

You need: full email address, password, IMAP server (mail.yourdomain.com), SMTP server (mail.yourdomain.com), ports (IMAP 993, SMTP 465 or 587). BeoHosting shows them in cPanel → Email Accounts → "Connect Devices".

2

iPhone (iOS Mail) — add account

Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account. Enter Name, Email, Password, Description → Next. Choose IMAP. Incoming: mail.yourdomain.com, username = full email, password. Outgoing: same. Save.

3

iPhone — verify SSL settings

Settings → Mail → Accounts → your account → Advanced → IMAP. Use SSL: ON, Server Port: 993. Account → Outgoing Server (SMTP) → Primary Server → Use SSL: ON, Server Port: 465.

4

Android (Gmail app) — add account

Gmail app → Menu → Settings → Add account → Other. Email → Next → Personal (IMAP). Password → Next. Incoming: mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS. Outgoing: mail.yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL/TLS. Done.

5

Send a test email

Send to yourself or a friend from the new account. Reply to verify both incoming and outgoing work. If sending fails, double-check SMTP server, port and username (must be full email).

6

Troubleshooting

Cannot connect: verify IMAP/SMTP enabled in cPanel. Wrong password: use full email as username. SSL error: confirm SSL enabled and hosting has valid SSL on mail subdomain — BeoHosting issues this automatically via AutoSSL.

FAQ

Odgovori na najčešća pitanja o našim uslugama.

Always IMAP. IMAP syncs read/unread/folders across all devices. POP3 downloads and (by default) deletes from server — bad for multi-device use.

IMAP: 993 (SSL/TLS). SMTP: 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS). Avoid 143 (IMAP unencrypted) and 25 (SMTP unencrypted).

Almost always wrong SMTP. Verify: server = mail.yourdomain.com, port 465 SSL or 587 STARTTLS, username = full email, password = mailbox password. On some networks port 25 is blocked — use 465 or 587.

iOS Mail uses "Fetch" by default — set to "Push" for instant delivery. Settings → Mail → Accounts → Fetch New Data → Push: ON. Note: not all servers support Push for IMAP.

Yes, you can set up an unlimited number of email accounts on a phone. On iPhone, add each account via Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account. In the Mail app you can view all inboxes together ("All Inboxes") or each separately. On Android in the Gmail app, add accounts and switch between them by tapping your profile picture. Tip: use a different signature for each account (Settings > account > Signature). Each account can have different sync settings.
