Registration, transfer, renewal, nameservers, WHOIS, wildcard subdomains, EPP code, and seamless migration.
How to register a new domain
Visit beohosting.com and enter the desired domain name in the search field. The system will check availability and show prices for various extensions (.com, .net, .org, .us, and others). Choose the desired domain, add it to the cart, and complete the order. The domain activates automatically after payment, usually within 1-2 hours.
How to change nameservers
Sign in to panel.beohosting.com and open the "My domains" section. Click on the domain whose nameservers you want to change, then on the "Nameservers" option. Select "Use custom nameservers" and enter the new nameservers. For BeoHosting use ns1.beohosting.com and ns2.beohosting.com. Click "Save changes" — DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours.
How to transfer a domain
Before the transfer, unlock the domain with the current registrar and request an EPP/AuthCode. At panel.beohosting.com choose "Domain transfer" and enter the domain name and EPP code. Complete the order and the payment — the transfer includes a 1-year extension. Transfer usually takes 5-7 days for .com/.net domains. Some country-code extensions follow a different procedure — contact us via ticket for detailed instructions.
How to check domain expiry
Sign in to panel.beohosting.com and open the "My domains" section. The registration expiry date is shown next to each domain. Domains expiring within the next 30 days are highlighted. Automatic email reminders are sent 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry. We recommend renewing the domain at least 7 days before expiry to avoid the risk of losing it.
How to renew a domain
Sign in to panel.beohosting.com, open "My domains" and click on the domain you want to renew. Choose "Renew domain" and the renewal period (1-10 years). After payment, the domain is extended automatically. If the domain has already expired, you have a 30-day grace period for renewal at the regular price. After that period, renewal may still be possible with a redemption fee, or the domain becomes available for registration again.
How to enable WHOIS protection
WHOIS protection (ID Protection) hides your personal data from the public WHOIS database. Sign in to panel.beohosting.com, open "My domains" and click on the desired domain. In the domain options find "ID protection" and enable it. This service is available for .com, .net, .org, and most popular extensions. Note: a few country-code extensions do not support WHOIS protection because their registry operators publish registrant data by policy.
How to connect a domain to hosting
To connect a domain to a BeoHosting account, set the domain nameservers to ns1.beohosting.com and ns2.beohosting.com. You do this at panel.beohosting.com under "My domains" — click on the domain and then on "Nameservers". Then in cPanel (yourdomain.com:2083) go to "Addon Domains" or "Aliases" to add the domain to the hosting account. DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours, but the site is usually accessible within 2-4 hours.
How to set up a domain redirect
Sign in to cPanel (yourdomain.com:2083) and open "Redirects" under "Domains". Choose the redirect type: 301 (permanent) for SEO or 302 (temporary). Enter the source domain and the target URL where visitors should be redirected. Tick "Wild Card Redirect" if you want all sub-links to be redirected as well. Click "Add" to save the redirect — the change is immediate and does not require DNS propagation.
How to register a .us domain
The .us domain is the official country-code extension for the United States and a great fit for American businesses and individuals. Registration requires a first and last name or company name, a US-based contact (the .us nexus requirement), and standard contact details. Check your preferred name on our site beohosting.com in the domain search. Choose the .us domain, add it to the cart, and complete the order. After payment, the domain is registered within minutes to a few hours. The same flow works for .com, .net, and .org as well.
How to set up a parked domain
A parked domain (Alias) lets an additional domain show the same site as your primary domain. In cPanel go to Domains > Aliases (or Parked Domains in older versions). Enter the domain you want to park and click Add Domain. Before adding, the domain must have DNS records pointing to your server IP. After setup, visitors will see the same content regardless of whether they access the primary or parked domain.
How to check domain availability
Visit beohosting.com and enter the desired name in the domain search field. The system automatically checks availability for all popular extensions (.com, .net, .org, .us, .io, and others). A green mark means the domain is free; red means it is taken. If your desired domain is taken, the system will suggest alternative extensions. Choose a free domain, add it to the cart, and complete the order.
How to set up an addon domain in cPanel
An addon domain lets you host a completely separate site on the same hosting account. In cPanel go to Domains > Domains and click "Create A New Domain". Enter the new domain and optionally change the Document Root folder. Click Submit to add the domain. Make sure DNS records for the new domain point to your server IP. Each addon domain has its own folder, so files from different sites stay separate.
How to lock a domain against transfer
A domain lock (Registrar Lock) prevents unauthorized transfer of your domain to another registrar. Sign in to panel.beohosting.com and go to My domains. Click on the domain and find the Registrar Lock option. Enable the lock by clicking the button. While the domain is locked, no transfer can occur. When you actually want to transfer the domain, first disable the lock. Note: some country-code extensions use a different transfer system through their own registry.
How to set up a wildcard subdomain
In cPanel open the "Domains" section. Enter an asterisk (*) instead of a specific name in the subdomain field. Set Document Root to the desired folder. Any subdomain not specifically defined (e.g. anything.yourdomain.com) will lead to that folder. There must also be an A record for *.yourdomain.com in the DNS zone. A wildcard subdomain is useful for applications that dynamically handle subdomains.
What is an EPP code and how to get it
An EPP code (Authorization Code) is a unique password required to transfer a domain to another registrar. Sign in to panel.beohosting.com and open the domain details. Click the option to retrieve the EPP code — the code will be displayed or sent by email. The EPP code is one-time and usually valid for 5-14 days. Before requesting the code, make sure the domain is unlocked for transfer.
How to check WHOIS data for a domain
WHOIS is a public database showing information about the domain owner, registration and expiry dates, and nameservers. Visit who.is or lookup.icann.org to check WHOIS data for any domain. If the data is protected by a WHOIS Privacy service, you will see the proxy service details instead of the owner. Regularly verify that your contact details are up to date.
How to change contact details for a domain
Sign in to panel.beohosting.com, open "My domains" and click on the domain. Find the option to edit contact information and update the registrant details. For some country-code extensions, a change of ownership requires a special procedure with the registry operator. Important: the registrant email address must always be valid because expiry notifications are sent there.
How to switch a domain to another host without downtime
First lower the TTL to 300 seconds at least 24-48 hours before the change. Prepare the site on the new host and test it using the hosts file. When everything is ready, change the A record to point to the new server IP. With a low TTL, propagation takes only a few minutes. After a successful migration, restore the TTL to the standard value (14400).
